If you are in pain during surgery hours, please telephone and every effort will be made to see you as soon as possible. Call 01733 230066.
Ring as early in the day as you can. Tell reception what the problem is and how long it has been going on — it helps us judge how urgently you need to be seen and how much time to set aside.
Outside surgery hours
If you are in pain outside surgery hours, please telephone the normal surgery number for advice. If you need to see a dentist, arrangements will be made, although not necessarily with someone from this practice.
What counts as a dental emergency?
- Severe or worsening toothache, especially if it keeps you awake
- Facial swelling, or swelling around a tooth or the gum
- A knocked-out, broken or badly chipped tooth
- A lost crown, veneer or filling leaving a sharp or sensitive tooth
- Bleeding that will not stop after an extraction
- A broken denture you cannot manage without
If you cannot reach us
If you have significant facial swelling that is spreading, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or you have had a serious injury to the face, treat it as a medical emergency: call NHS 111, or 999 in a severe case. Do not wait for the practice to open.
