Relax… you look better
We are inclined to develop fine lines and wrinkles as part of the natural ageing process. Skin cells become less effective at repairing themselves and produce less collagen, so skin becomes thinner and less elastic.
How quickly that happens is partly genetic, but lifestyle matters too. Ultraviolet (UV) light, smoking, a high-sugar diet, lack of sleep and stress can all affect cell repair and collagen production.
How the treatment works
We use botulinum toxin, a naturally-occurring muscle relaxant, to reduce the contraction of the facial muscles that fold the skin. With those muscles softened, the skin above them lies smoother — and the lines have a chance to settle rather than deepen.
The effects of one treatment can last anything from three to five months. If an area has not responded as fully as we would like, we will top it up free of charge within three weeks.
Treated properly, the result should look like you, rested. Postoperative complications are rare.

Why have facial aesthetics at a dental practice?
Dentists work with the anatomy of the face every working day, injecting in this region with precision under strict cross-infection control, in a regulated clinical environment. It is a natural extension of the skills already used at the chair.
Frequently asked questions
How much are anti-wrinkle treatments?
Anti-wrinkle treatments start at £250, and the consultation is free.
How long do the effects last?
Typically three to five months. A free top-up is available within three weeks if an area has not responded fully.
Will I look frozen?
Not when it is done well. The aim is a softened, natural result — we would rather do a little and review than overtreat.
Is there any downtime?
No. Treatment takes a few minutes and you can return to your day straight away.
